ABOUT


The Administrative Office of the District Attorneys’ (AODA) is a state agency created to support and promote the work of all of New Mexico’s District Attorneys, including but not limited to support, training, dissemination of information that supports and aids prosecutors in the prosecution of crime throughout the state, legislative matters pertinent to prosecution and any and all other matters that directly affect prosecutors in the State of New Mexico.

The Establishment of AODA:

The Administrative Office of the District Attorneys (AODA) was created in 1984 (36-1-25 NMSA) and provides the following basic support services to all District Attorneys’ Offices statewide:

  • Automation Development and Coordination
  • Staff Development
  • Victim Notification Coordination
  • Fiscal Administration
  • Personnel Administration
  • Liaison Services
  • Forensic Evaluation Program Administration

Mission Statement and Objectives:

The basic mission of the Administrative Office of the District Attorneys is to improve the Criminal Justice System by promoting professionalism among New Mexico’s prosecutors through education, information, liaison, and administrative and technological support, and to achieve objectives which will benefit and improve the offices of the District Attorneys.

The basic philosophy of the Administrative Office of the District Attorneys is to attain the mission of the Office by utilizing all available data to analyze situations and make sound and equitable administrative decisions; to strive for integrity and consistency regarding the services provided to the District Attorneys’ Offices; and to establish a high level of professionalism in dealing with the public and other agencies.
The major goals of the Administrative Office of the District Attorneys are as follows:

  • To develop and maintain computer automation within all District Attorneys’ Offices;
  • To improve the system of personnel rules and employee compensation for all District Attorneys’ Offices;
  • To increase the staff development opportunities for employees in all District Attorneys’ Offices; and
  • To increase the level of administrative support provided to all District Attorneys’ Offices.
